CAD visualization software gets structure compare tool
November 6, 2024
Within its 3DViewStation application, KISTERS has introduced the structure compare feature. The CAD visualization software displays changes in the 3D model. It also provides a detailed list, helping users quickly identify design changes. The time-saving feature and analytical precision significantly enhance product engineering as well as collaboration within the entire production chain.
In older versions of 3DViewStation, structural analysis mostly relied on visual geometry comparisons. Color markers indicated model changes. Now, users have the option of a table that lists where parts were added or removed. The comparison table also documents changes in volume, surface area, and color. Users can also apply settings related to quantification.
“This approach more clearly communicates all relevant changes. It allows for even more efficient review,” says Craig Impastato, U.S. Sales Director.
The new functionality also offers extensive filtering options. Criteria include structure, geometry, physical properties, attributes, transformation, appearance, visibility, text, file path, and subcategories. Users select criteria to customize results to their own needs.
Impastato pointed, out, “When users can focus on changes meaningful to them, the change analysis process becomes more precise, organized and faster.”
3DViewStation is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements. Another feature in development is the heatmap compare feature. Users will be able to detect the smallest geometric changes through intelligent visualization. The evolution of KISTERS CAD visualization platform reflects greater needs in modern change management. Manufacturing costs and profit margins demand accuracy and seamless collaboration across departments — and businesses — to ensure flawless and profitable production.
