Siemens Active Workspace and 3DViewStation now integrated
January 18, 2018
Success in today’s automotive industry is determined by quick business decisions backed by immediate access to reliable information.
TI Automotive, the world’s leading manufacturer of fluid systems, now employs the web-based Siemens Active Workspace Client (AWC). Management now enjoys user-friendly access to information in the Siemens’ Teamcenter PLM system at any time and from anywhere in the world using a mobile device.
The capability is so intuitive.
The main challenge was the huge migration and indexing of millions of legacy data items. Now the AWC is used by half of the Teamcenter enterprise. Several users can view the same item on their screens at the same time. Real-time discussions and winning approvals in less time are now a reality. It’s a more efficient approach to doing business. Product development documents are available at the literal touch of a button.
With 120 sites in 29 countries, TI Automotive found AWC extremely beneficial for collaboration – not only in development and production departments, but also in support.
No software installation is required on mobile devices, simplifying IT management.
Piterion served as the systems integrator. The firm provides customized solutions, carefully selecting IT partners and high performance solutions to implement the best possible product lifecycle management (PLM) strategy for its customers.
KISTERS 3DViewStation software enables users to view CAD files without a high-end CAD license. Users of all expertise levels and in all departments, beyond engineering, are able to view, analyze, and annotate CAD product drawings and documents from any desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device.
